How Medical Care Is Being Corrupted

It's time for patients and physicians to make a conscious decision around a core issue in our healthcare system today: personal care versus population health.  The notion that we should align our healthcare decisions based on what's in our own self-interest (patient-centered) versus what's best for the population as a whole (system-centered) is perhaps the most significant shift and in my opinion, challenge in U.S. healthcare today.  Please read the op-ed from the New York Times to help familiarize yourself with the issue.  All comments welcome!

Welcome!

Welcome to Forman Family Medicine, and welcome to our new website! We are a very patient-centered practice therefore good communication is a must. This blog is not only a good way for us to impart general and specific health and wellness-related information to you, our patients; we hope it serves as a tool for you to provide feedback and ask questions about the practice. Please note that as this is a public website, the information posted in this blog is not secure or protected. This blog should not be used to post any Personal Health Information (PHI). If you have any health concerns, please call our office to discuss them. In the future, we hope to offer you the ability to securely, privately, and electronically communicate with your provider via a patient portal. We are exploring various patient portal options at the moment. Thank you for your continued support as we continue to make strides toward excellence in Family Medicine. We look forward to a healthy and healthful dialogue.
